Before I had Time

Before I had Time

We left before I had time
Not knowing it would be the last
Only having a chance to watch
As you left me behind

We left before I had time
To memories everything around,
To engrave your face in the
Center of my heart.

We left before I had time
To prepare for the regret
Of never seeing you again
Never hear the words “I love you”
Come from your thoughts

You left before I had time
To let the tears hit the ground

You left before I had time
To let my voice fill the room
With a final good-bye

I love your poem. It's something alot of peple can relate to even though it has that personal, unique style. I have a suggestion, "To engrave your face in the
Center of my heart." I really like those lines, but it feels a little cutoff when you finish with "in the" a suggestion is that you could say, To engrave your face in / the center of my heart. But if those lines are significant in that order, you should totally keep it the way it is!

Great!

When you say, "We left before I had time
To memories everything around," do you mean "We left before I had time/ To memorize everything around"?
