And by then I knew I had to go

How you aggravated me so;

Closing the road with no detour,

So I was lost like a baby doe.

When I asked to pass you said no.

I said why and you just looked at me with horror

And by then I knew I had to go.

I couldn’t believe I was harassed by some average Joe.

I left because I couldn’t take it anymore,

So I was lost like a baby doe.

I took the next left hoping I would know,

And that the road work would be no more

And by then I knew I had to go.

I knew I would call that contractor and express my woe,

And there was still no sign for a detour.

So I was lost like a baby doe.

Just then I saw my street so I merged and was able to go;

But then noticed it was not and worried more

So I was lost like a baby doe,

And I knew by then I had to go.

my favorite line is still "I couldn’t believe I was harassed by some average Joe."
