They forgot about the children
All four of them
Lucy, Paul, Daniel and Penelope
Abandoned
Left to fend for themselves
Alone
In the dark and decrepid house
They had once called home
The furniture lay in ruins
The picture frames all cracked and torn
And the four children
Huddled together on the floor
Forgotten
